|When replacing the leader, the Cultural-Mix is renewed automatically in a department. Leadership changes may cause some to become losers and other winners. Expectations regarding the new leader should be toned down until the leader finds his or her place first within the management team and then whithin the department. Important measures in connection with such changes are to:
(1) Discuss the similarities and differences between old and new situation.
(2) Promote unity and cooperation within the personnel group. Individuals should be able to compete with themselves rather than through their colleagues, so as to be able to realize their personal goals.
Such changes depend, among others, on the background and the organizational understanding of the consultant or the change agent.
